Aged just sixteen, Fugative’s twisted hooks and colourful rhymes belie his tender years. This ain’t no Disney reared cash cow cynically aimed at raiding the piggy banks of impressionable young girls. Fugative AKA Harry Byart is the real deal, a living and breathing testament to his music, striving to reach the top on his very own merits.
While his teenage pals spent their weekends loitering around shopping centres, Fugative was dodging glow sticks and forging a bold and adventurous new sound encompassing grime, R&B, hip hop and pop. Storming debut album ’No Goin’ Home’ is the result of the sacrifices he has made. “I’ve given up a lot to get here and this record is for the fans,” explains the tireless boy wonder. “A lot of them are under 18 and when it comes to the end of my gigs they just don’t wanna go home or be stuck in doors, they wanna be out. “No Goin’ Home is for them.”
Loughton in Essex is where Harry served his musical apprenticeship - a unique childhood immersed in great music. “My mum was in the business and managed Marvin Gaye,” he says proudly. “So I was surrounded by music. Treasure Hunt
Right, i’ve got an AMAZING new competition for you all in celebration of my new single Bad Girl which is out this sunday (July 25th)! Over the next week there’ll be 8 photos of me that will appear across the internet, as part of a jigsaw. You’ve got to find them all and then send me an email at mail@fugative.co.uk. In that email i want to know:
- where you found the pieces of the jigsaw (so give me a list of website links)
- three reasons why you should win the prize.
The prize is that I will come to your house and perform a 20 minute set! Make sure you read the terms and conditions below before entering! I’ll be giving you clues throughout the week so good luck peoples!
Ministry of Sound Recordings Limited (“MoS”) reserves the right to amend these terms & conditions. Winners to be notified by 02/08/10.
1. Any person who is an employee or an immediate family member of an employee of MoS or any other person who is directly connected with the organisation of any particular competition is ineligible to participate.
2. By entering the competition entrants will be deemed to have read and understood these rules and be bound by them.
3. To enter the competition, entrants have to find 8 pieces of an image of Fugative across different websites, and then email the links of each website to mail@fugative.co.uk, along with three reasons why they should be the winner. The prize shall be the opportunity for Fugative to come to the winner’s residence (at such times and dates as MoS directs) to perform a 20 minute set. Once MoS has selected the winner, MoS shall assess the winning entrants place of residence at which Fugative shall perform. MoS shall direct the winner as to how many people can attend at the winner’s place of resident to watch Fugative’s performance. MoS’s decision shall be final in this respect and if more people than MoS has permitted attend at the winner’s house, MoS shall cancel Fugative’s performance and the performance shall not be rescheduled nor will any substitute prize be awarded.
4. The winner hereby acknowledges that MoS shall film and record Fugative’s performance. The winner hereby consents (and shall procure that any attendees at Fugative’s performance consent) to MoS using any footage or photographs taken during Fugative’s performance for all promotional use throughout the world in any and all media.
5. The winner acknowledges that MoS shall bring equipment into the winner’s place of residence and the winner shall (and shall procure that any attendees shall) not damage the said equipment and comply with any health and safety instructions as MoS directs.
6.Entrants will not need to notify MoS of their entry; MoS shall locate all entries by email.
7. Competitions are only open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
8. Entrants can be any age. Entrants that are under 18 years old must get their parent or guardian’s permission to enter the competition. In the event that the winning entrant is under 18 years old, the winner must have a parent or guardian present at all times when redeeming the prize.
9. All decisions of MoS will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
10. All entrants’ answers must be received by MoS by the closing date specified in the competition. Answers will be entered automatically upon submission. No responsibility will be taken by MoS for any answers that are illegible, misdirected, lost for technical or other reasons or received after the closing date.
11. The winner will be chosen by Fugative who will select (at his absolute discretion) which entry he deems to be the winning entry. The winner will be announced on Fugative’s website and/or notified within seven days after the winner has been ascertained. Names of winners are available from MoS upon request.
12. If the winner of the prize cannot be traced after reasonable efforts having been made by MoS then MoS may dispose of the prize as it thinks fit without any liability to the winner for having done so.
13. Entry costs (where applicable) are as advertised. Entrants are liable for their costs to access telephone, mobile or computer networks.
14. MoS reserves the absolute right to disqualify any entrant to any competition which it considers has used improper technical means to enter.
15. MoS makes no warranties or representations about the competition prize. MoS shall not be liable for any loss or damage which occurs whilst the winner redeems the prize. Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. MoS reserves the right to substitute prizes at any time. MoS may withdraw this competition at any time.
16. These competition rules are governed by English law and any disputes shall be governed by the courts of England and Wales.
